So like I said last week, the ice rinks are open again, yay! However my schedule forbids me from going too often; so far I've gone three times. I just got back from my third session… Today was exhilirating! I felt so happy and full of joy on the way back. I have missed this feeling.

Jumps and figures are slowly coming back. I'm seeing my coach on Saturday for some real training. In the mean time, my weight has dropped significantly, and I'm once again at my lowest ever. SO CLOSE to my initial 75kg goal. A waitress was hitting on me earlier at the rink, quite possibly for the first time in my life. Feels pretty unreal.

I've not played Beat Saber in two weeks. Uh, Hades has taken priority.

I’ve lost about 30lbs since being fully vaccinated. I’ve also started doing some basic exercises again recently.

I'm still plugging away every day at my fitness goals. I've been using LoseIt to track calories and weight over time, and in the past week, I changed my activity level from expecting to burn ~2400 calories to ~2750 calories. This has been a big motivator for me to keep a steady level of activity for each day so I can reach that goal. It also helps me better plan my meals. Before, I would be waiting for the app to recalculate my "bonus calories" at around 4:00 PM which meant I would have a slow morning of snacking to the evening where I am guesstimating how much more I could eat since the app always assumed my activity level would be zero after 2400 calories.

I turned on auto-pause for my fitness tracker when I am doing runs. The result was I got myself a 26:00 5K on a light run earlier this week. I had previously gotten 26:24 on runs where I was not pausing each time I stopped so I think I can run that distance faster. I'm trying to incorporate different running workouts throughout the week, but mostly it is just choosing between long-distance (>6 miles) or fast (3-4 miles).

The mask mandate is over in my region as well so I am likely going to up my gym time. I sweat an incredibly large amount at the gym and while normal day-to-day mask-wearing was fine, the moisture that pooled up inside my mask was suffocating for me on certain cardio exercises.

On the nutrition side, everything is going the same. I'm consistently meeting my protein goals and staying around my calorie goals for the day. I'm trying to focus on getting more carbs into my diet for days where I work harder on a run or at the gym, but I'm finding it difficult to maintain a consistent macro split between carbs and fat. Some days my carbs are at 20% while fat is at 40%, other days it is the exact opposite.

I got my Polar heart rate monitor last Thursday! I've really been enjoying use it. It's a good metric to see how hard I'm working and to set goals for different workouts. I used it for yoga today and that was neat to see where my heart rate was at! The app I use was like "good recovery day workout" but I'm sitting there sweatier than a mfer.

Still, I think having my monitor will be super helpful as I work on my endurance and just try to do higher quality workouts.
