    So, the dog wasn't special ... the owner's training technique was. And yet everything I see is about the "smartest" dog. Did anybody see anything online detailing Pilly's training methods? Thanks.

      How dare you... every dog is special! ;) No but seriously, I think entirely discounting the dog from the equation is a bit of a mistake, since I suspect that not ever dog has the temperament or...

      No but seriously, I think entirely discounting the dog from the equation is a bit of a mistake, since I suspect that not ever dog has the temperament or ability to be trained to that level. And philosophically, isn't every "smart" animal (and even human) ultimately just a result of their genes and environment, of which training plays a part?
