Pride is more than a parade: In these pandemic times, let's remember that Pride Month is about the resilience, creativity and beauty of the LGBTQ community

The timing of this was rather fortuitous. Our own pride ERG recently released a statement about how we had plans, but they are now going to be pushed back in lieu of recent events.

I also am not sure how to put into words how I feel about being robbed of large gatherings by a pandemic, only to be given the chance to gather in large groups yet again for an entirely different reason. I am proud to be able to protest in a very different way than I am proud of my identity.

I am also deeply afraid of how these large gatherings are likely to cause a surge in hospitalizations and a second wave of this pandemic.
