AARCS is based in Alberta, Canada and provide a lot of services for rescued (often straight from the streets), and abandoned animals. There are special needs animals that they work hard to help either medically or emotionally for the hopes of being adopted into their forever home.
For those, not in AB and would like to contribute, check out their Giving catalogue.
Of course there are lots of organizations and programs like this both in and out of AB. I hope this posts encourages some of you to look them up, check them out, and share them.
Big this. I got one of my cats from a foster who'd been taking care of her ever since she'd been hit by a car at a couple months old. She has an odd gait, can't jump worth a damn, and her sinuses...

I got one of my cats from a foster who'd been taking care of her ever since she'd been hit by a car at a couple months old. She has an odd gait, can't jump worth a damn, and her sinuses are weird so every day or two she'll have a huge sneezing fit and I'll have to find a tissue, but she's the sweetest, most loving cat. She's been sleeping at the foot of my bed, and stealing the warmth from my desk chair for two years now.
Meanwhile my rude little boy just cries because he's on a diet, and steals pizza bones out of the garbage.
You found the kitten pic loophole! In all seriousness, I adopted my shepherd cross from a rescue and he is the most wonderful dog. If I were to get another pet, I would definitely go to a rescue...

I want to cuddle them all, but I already have three. One of them is sitting at my right. Another is sitting at my left. And the littlest one is sitting on the back of my couch and kneading my scalp.

We adopted too, two kittens. They are both very affectionate and just bring so much joy to my life.
Was expecting a meme and boatloads of discussion on why this should be removed, was pleasantly surprised.
I was wondering if this was a bit too cheeky to post too.
I will always support adoption awareness. This is the best kind of fluff.
I need Shirley in my life, but I some times travel for work and live alone.

Cats make the world a cuter place. Also a hairier place.

How many cats make you a crazy cat person? Has there been studies done :P
I was a crazy cat person even when I didn't have my own cats.
Aw, can I have Laverne please?
I will fully support even the fluffiest of fluff posts if they contain cute animals.
Here is my rescue baby, Tika.
