This, fellow ~ers, is what revolutions are made of. I imagine this is what the peasants (French, Russian, Indian, take your pick) felt when they rebooted their society and tried something different.
I’ll go: I don’t expect to own a home. I don’t expect to retire well, or at all. I don’t expect anyone to give me anything I haven’t explicitly asked for, and even then. I don’t expect it will ever be affordable to continue my education in any formal way. If a package gets lost in the mail, I don’t expect to see it again. I don’t expect the government or the banks or the universities to do anything that benefits regular people. I don’t expect them to hold each other accountable on our behalf. I don’t expect them to expel abusers from their ranks, or to put my safety over their legacy.

I agree but I also feel like the article goes somewhere different at the end: I feel like she is advocating a quiet revolution, something more grassroots. I really like what she says about...

I really like what she says about supporting your neighbours and taking care of yourself as much as possible. The houseplant metaphor is nice and I intend to hang on to that one.
I did this years ago. Don't look back. Everyone will call you crazy while they try to live paycheck to paycheck to pay for all of their toys. In 10 years you'll be so much further along than them,...

In 10 years you'll be so much further along than them, not just financially, but spiritually as well. And watch out for your friends and family - they tend to be the ones who are bothered the most when someone dares to break the mold.
As a side note: If anyone knows where interesting write ups or articles like this should go instead of ~misc let me know! I wasn't sure where to put it, but longer-reads are what I remember reddit...

I wasn't sure where to put it, but longer-reads are what I remember reddit being great for. It's turned into a lot more content creation rather than content aggregation. I miss finding good stuff on the web, rather than stuff farming karma.

Those peasants were all entitled brats. They should have just pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and worked harder ;)
Great username :)
