I would kindly remind everyone that even if Trump doesn't become the next leader, that this document isn't going to magically disappear, it's just going to be agenda item #1 for the next Republican leader. Trump himself was never the main problem, he's merely the symptom of the bigger problem.

It's especially relevant given how The Heritage Foundation has been a core piece of Republican administrations since that time (Reagan inclusive), as well as a disturbingly large influence on the Democratic platforms as well.
Every time Republicans rail about how the liberal agenda for the last 50 years has been ruining America, remember how they've been in charge of the Presidency for 28 of them, and the House and Senate for 33 of them. It's all lies to propagate a narrative that they haven't been actively working to undermine democracy since the 60s.

My plea as a parent and a harsh critic of Democrats and Republicans alike:
I don't want my kids to grow up in a war-torn hellscape of extremism. I want them to grow up in a land where people are free to disagree with each other while collaborating to move forward in a way that lets everyone enjoy the libery and prosperity that was promised as the American Dream.

Project 2025 is a fascist authoritarian dictator's dream.
It gives the president unprecedented power to override any and all checks and balances set forth in the constitution.

To the Republicans, I ask you: Would you have wanted Clinton, Obama, or Biden to have these kinds of unchecked power? To purge their ideological enemies on a whim? Think about that as you read through the proposals.
A vote for a Republican in 2024 and beyond is a vote for the end of democracy in favor of a dictatorship.
Vote for Democrats for 2024, and lets all think long and hard how we got to this point where almost half of the country is seriously considering voting for a party that wants to abolish democracy. If you can't bring yourself to vote for a Democrat for one reason or another, at least vote for a third party to signal that you don't support the end of democracy. Tell the Republicans that they've gone too far, and that ending democracy is not an acceptable answer to losing elections.
We need to push for voting reforms at all levels of government to encourage collaboration and compromise. Reforms like Ranked Choice voting, which makes parties other than the Democrats and Republicans viable. To electorally punish extremism on both ends of the spectrum, so that a vote against one extreme is no longer a vote for the other extreme.

I understand the urgency, but would you possibly consider hiding party lines to give people the chance to read up about Project 2025 and to decide to reject it?

I think would be more effective. If they've never heard of it now they have. If they already heard from their social group but is undecided if they support it, it might give them pause on if it's really a good thing. A lot of undecided voters are just tired and convinced it doesn't matter which guy to vote for. These are people who could actually turn up as single issue voter to vote down P2025.
I think that's about as much as could be hoped for. I don't think it's possible for one flyer to change their minds from voting R to voting D, but it could just possibly let them know P2025 is dangerous and why, and HOPEFULLY get them to go out there and vote accordingly.

I think perhaps that's going to have to be a multi prong approach that's beyond one person with a flyer campaign. By nature of it being part of the daily mail, the message will have to compete...

By nature of it being part of the daily mail, the message will have to compete with bills and invoices, as well as if today's sale is on milk and butter. I think even if it's something humble like "Project 2025 Bad" on the one side it'll have served its purpose. Leave a link or QR code for those who want to read more, but understand the number of words will negatively correlate it with likelihood to be read.

It'll be up to folks with more air time and deeper pockets to connect Trump or Republicans with P2025. The first thing we can do is even to get people who have tuned out, due to many stressors in life and trying to keep above waters, to be aware of it. It was by design to keep folks stressed and too poor to care about anything politics related, so in my humble opinion that by itself is a very ambitious goal.

I would much rather vote based on a detailed plan thought through in advance than have to decide who to vote for based on campaign promises nobody expects the candidates to fulfill, even if they do win.
I think it would be great if the Democrats or other political coalitions or think tanks had equivalent roadmaps for exactly what their plans are, and how they intend to work around the expected resistance when republicans inevitably try to stop them from doing any of it. Maybe they already do.

Didn't Trump distance himself from Project 2025? If he did, and republicans still intend on pushing this plan forward, they're kind of, not being that open about it.

A government official from the town I grew up in was Republican. It wasn’t exactly a role that involved party politics, so even though I’m not Republican I voted for him back around 2014-2018 ish....

But after Trump he became an independent. It’s honestly nice to see at least one member of that party with integrity. He’s an old school “just tax me a bit less and leave me alone” kind of guy. I don’t know why the rest of the Republicans had to go batshit insane.

Whenever somebody tries to tell me there are moderate Republicans left, I point to P2025 and say "Not if they're still voting Republican."
