How many of this year's Oscar nominees have you seen?

Hey everyone. I know there's a few people here interested in film, but the majority aren't really. With the Oscars right around the corner, I was curious as to how many of this years nominees you have seen. Here's the Wikipedia page to see the nominees.

I've seen all the Best Picture nominees and most of the acting contenders. Notably I haven't seen Spencer, Parallel Mothers, and The Worst Person in the World which I will try to watch by the time of the ceremony. This year I have seen 4 of the Best Picture nominees in theaters (Belfast, Licorice Pizza, West Side Story and Dune). This is in comparison to last years 0 (obviously) and the year before's 5 (1917, Little Women, Parasite, Joker, and Once Upon A Time Hollywood). The rest I saw through streaming.

If I had to rank this year's Best Picture nominees, this would be the order:

  1. West Side Story
  2. Licorice Pizza
  3. Don't Look Up
  4. Belfast
  5. Nightmare Alley
  6. King Richard
  7. Drive My Car
  8. The Power of the Dog
  9. CODA
  10. Dune

What about you guys?

    Just Dune.

Looking at the entire list of nominees, the only movies across all categories that I've seen are Dune, Cruella, and Coming 2 America. The latter two I had honestly forgotten were released in the past year and would have otherwise thought they were released prior to 2021.

The Power of the Dog is in my Netflix queue and I'm sure I'll watch Drive My Car because Saab.

I have seen Dune and Don't Look Up. While perfectly enjoyable, the later didn't seem like a noteworthy movie to me, so I'm a bit surprised.

I’ve seen all but West Side Story and Drive My Car. They’re both on my watchlist and on HBO Max, I just haven’t gotten around to them. I’d have seen West Side Story in theatres, but I could never fit it in my schedule (it’s a long movie and showtimes were limited after it did poorly).

Since y’all have seen so few of them, I’ll list out where they’re all available, you can’t lose picking one of these movies.

Belfast — Rent/Purchase, will likely go to Peacock.
    CODAApple TV+
    Don’t Look UpNetflix
    Drive My CarHBO Max
DuneHBO Max. Bonus: Original on Starz
King Richard — HBO Max on March 24.
Licorice Pizza — Rent/Purchase, Possibly Amazon
Nightmare AlleyHBO Max and Hulu. Bonus: Original on YouTube
    The Power of the DogNetflix
West Side StoryHBO Max and Disney+. Bonus: Original on HBO Max

I wouldn't be surprised if King Richard and Will Smith win for King Richard, though. Smith got the SAG, GG, and the BAFTA so far -- but its the SAG that really counts for the Oscars.
