This is meaningless really, the only thing he can’t do now is vote for the Oscar’s. He can still be nominated, he can still win, he can still attend ceremonies.
My prediction is that this will all blow over, Smith goes on an apology tour and he’ll be back next year to present Best Actress as is tradition.

Edit: Something that might be serious is that SAG-AFTRA is looking to also do some sort of disciplinary procedures. As they are describing it as a “workplace incident” which people seem to forget that it was in fact a workplace that this occurred at.
