Man, so many feels. I grew up with the original Beast Wars and seeing a non-optimus gorilla is odd, but I'm hyped they are in it. On the other hand the Transformers films have been... exceedingly mediocre. Glad Marky-Mark is no longer attached. Or Shia for that matter, I still blame the franchise for his return to grace.
I would love to know what the plot is. In the past the franchise was a massive advertisement for GM so it would be hilarious to take a "climate change" angle where the animal based transformers are threatened by a climate change proxy and cars save the day. With the audacity of big business (looking at you DeBeers/Unilever and NatGeo conservation partnership) I kind of expect this to be the case. I will laugh and cry if it turns out to be true.
In beast wars Optimus Primal was not Optimus Prime, they even had an episode or two where they are in the Ark and Prime and other autobots were deactivated. Though it's unclear if they'll resolve...
In beast wars Optimus Primal was not Optimus Prime, they even had an episode or two where they are in the Ark and Prime and other autobots were deactivated. Though it's unclear if they'll resolve that Primal took on Prime's spark in the transmetal story arc.
Personally I thought Bumblebee was okay like a 7 outta 10 and leagues better than any of the movies under Bay's direction. And it looks like this movie is going to continue in that vein rather than trying to return to the Bay way of things (and since Mirage is back I'm assuming they're not following his continuity either.)
