It’s been set in rural/low density areas for a while now (Scream 3 is the only one that takes place in a major city and even then it’s not like it takes place in downtown LA). I feel like there’s a lot they can do with the denser population and atmosphere.
I do hope it focuses mostly on the new characters. They were the best part about Scream 5 and I think the series has reached the point where the original characters have been through enough.
I have enjoyed all of the movies in the series expect 3, but even then there are tons of individual elements of 3 that I love. Of all the major horror franchises, it has probably the highest batting average.

Considering we just got Scream V earlier this year, the turnover rate on these horror films are incredible.
Scream 2 came out less than a year after the original.
