    One of my biggest misalignment with mass taste. Like, I can enjoy a bit of Avengers, Star Wars, Pixar or even Tom Cruise. But what is it about awkward videogame environments involving blue people and mechs? How does that beat literally everything, lol (Avatar 1 is still #1 worldwide of all time at almost $3 billion)?

      A lot of the criticism against Avatar can be summed up as "this is too ridiculous to take seriously". I mean that's valid criticism but not very strong. It seems to me that a lot of people can't...

      A lot of the criticism against Avatar can be summed up as "this is too ridiculous to take seriously". I mean that's valid criticism but not very strong. It seems to me that a lot of people can't get past the multiple Jar jar Binks in the room, and won't ever be able to appreciate all the beautiful things that are deeply moving to the fans. Essentially, they're talking about different movies.

      Also, a lot of people place great importance on originality and have a narrow interpretation of what it means to be original. Others place greater value in variations on a theme and have a more inclusive notion of what constitutes originality.
