An Cailín Ciúin aka The Quiet Girl (2022)
A brave movie with excellent actors that can reach the viewer with or without dialog. It also introduces a talented young actor in a story about old Ireland, family and fostering.
But it’s not about the description. There’s-so much pathos in this movie, I was riveted and it stands out on its own.

Lift (2023)
Documentary about a ballet instructor/choreographer who went back to his childhood shelter to try to bring other children through home insecurities to a better place. It was incredibly moving and heartfelt, and the ending was absolutely beautiful.
Was just trying to think of the top 5 movies of the 2020s so far.

No One Will Save You (2023)
A home invasion movie that subverted my expectations a few times, even with a trailer that seemed to give a lot away. Turns out it didn't. The lack of dialogue amped up the tension in a very cool way. I'm surprised this went straight to Netflix. It felt worthy of a proper theatrical release. The final act really solidified it as worthwhile.
