I saw the trailers for this and it looked pretty good. Anybody caught it this weekend? My RSS reader also found this article about the back story...

I saw it the other day and it was excellent, but I really wished it had an intermission.

Yeah, I thought the same thing after I saw it last night. I love long movies, and I thought it was really good, but it got to a point where I no longer understood the concept of time.

I read the book and I am going to see the film. Anyone who comes into wealth should not share that information, certainly not with strangers.

I think it’s a spiritual sequel to Gangs of New York. Both in content (hyper violent period pieces of the early days of America) and in its more classical form.

I didn’t feel the runtime at all. I think there was only maybe two scenes that could have been a few minutes shorter, mostly because it would just go back and forth (most likely improv scenes from the actors).

But it’s a beautiful film. And Lilly Gladstone really stood out to me. I loved the focus on the spirituality of Native Americans. And I loved the sort of beginnings of the FBI (that was the original script’s main focus before being reworked with the tribes help).
