I'm actually shocked at how good this looks. I know it's the Minari guy, but I figured it would be more a dud for him. But I'm excited for it now. Best super bowl trailer so far.

Bill Paxton and Philip Seymour Hoffman are both dead. Jami Gertz is unlikely because of plot from the first movie, Alan ruck and Sean Whalen probably aren't big enough names/characters from the first movie for a cameo.
I have no idea! I could have sworn that I saw a teaser that had her say one line and then showed a flashback. I probably wasn’t paying enough attention and got duped by a fake YouTube trailer....

Turns out the director has confirmed it’s a separate story and no one from the first film will make an appearance.
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't realize the Super Bowl "debuted" this many movies. This feels like gaming with The Game Awards or something where trailers get dropped constantly.

I'm pretty sure I did this last year as well. But yeah the Super Bowl has always been a launching point for studios to start their marketing campaigns. Not to be a "sportsball" type of guy but...

What do you feel is nostalgic, other than the fact that it's a "Twister" film? Most trailers for things throw out lines and it's not as if any of the lines being thrown were from the first film....

It's definitely playing on at least partial nostalgia with the title but nothing else about the film is related to the first so I get the feeling they're attempting to make something self-contained rather than something that relies on nostalgia as its draw. I'm not sure we can ever get nostalgia for something like this considering Bill Paxton's absence. ☹️
The "twins" scene, the vibe of the hotshot that the team is up against, idk. Maybe this just isn't for me. Never felt that there needed to be a sequel for this movie.

Based on interviews with the director, though, it's not really a sequel. It's a completely different story from the first film and shares no ties to it. It may not be for you but I don't think...

It’s Helen Hunt. There was a teaser released a while back and she was in it.
This is the first footage we’ve seen from the movie so I’m not sure what teaser you’re referring to

Why does this just feel like nostalgia bait? A lot of just re-creating the first movie, throwing out lines and stuff.

The director is also an academy award nominee
I was only half watching when the trailer popped up during the Superbowl and I thought they were just showing scenes from the original movie.
