I never understood why people bothered to see the Transformers or Fast and the Furious films. That was until I started seeing these Monsterverse movies. They started pretty reasonably with Godzilla 2014 to get you invested. Now Godzilla has Super Saiyan Rose and Kong has a robot arm and there's a whole colony of giant apes living inside the hollow Earth? Bring on the popcorn.
We also got the Monarch TV show out of this whole thing, which was pretty great as well.
