No one cares, we all moved on. Bridget Jones was one half decent movie a very long time ago.

Apparently there was a whole bunch of books and this one is part of the book franchise: Mr Darcy dies and Bridget goes on with new love and life with little ones. What does take me out a little from the story is that renee zellweger is 55 years old and seems to have...lower elementary school aged children?!
The bunch of us who watched 2001's original were in our teens and 20's at the time, would maybe have kids that young. And Renee is a lot older than us.
But the folks who loved this movie in their 30s are for sure out of that stage right?
Maybe the movie would work with a de-aged flash back: Bridget is in your mid 30s, widowed with young kids, and as herself in her 55's re-telling the story to her grandkids.

Horrible to watch I might add. The flagrant fat-shaming is appalling to watch these days.
Yes, it hasn't aged well.

The third film, Bridget Jones Baby, is about the character being pregnant at a geriatric age.
