This is fully off-topic but our police chief presented to our RAs about how campus will handle ICE arriving on campus (and how unlikely it is unless we're directly targeted) and he kept saying...
This is fully off-topic but our police chief presented to our RAs about how campus will handle ICE arriving on campus (and how unlikely it is unless we're directly targeted) and he kept saying INS.
I wanted to tell him that none of these students were alive when that change happened. (Mostly at least. We might have had a few babies, March 1, 2003)
This gave me a flashback. But it also inspired me to make a new post about white supremacist rhetoric...

KKKK members starting their own border patrols, teaming up with neo-nazi's, and talk of dismantling the US government. I wanted to power through the book but every turn it made me feel more and more depressed knowing that these issues have existed for a long time.
They absolutely are an even more racist version of the KKK, so racist they were willing to work with Nazis. KKKK had lots of WWII vets and the vets were so racist they were willing to work with...

I haven't read that specific book, but when history hits me like that, I try to remind myself that we've been through it, and we've been through worse as a country and as any targeted group of...
I haven't read that specific book, but when history hits me like that, I try to remind myself that we've been through it, and we've been through worse as a country and as any targeted group of this sort of hatred. We can pull together and we can pull through, because our ancestors, literal and spiritual, did. (And we can learn from their mistakes too)

That is a great point, I also read Operation Paperclip and it took me a while to process it, but I think these things need to be brought to light/exposed to the public consiousness.
