When I saw the tags, I thought Colin Hanks was going to play John Candy in a biopic. Which, honestly, might've worked with the right prosthetics.(?) But this is definitely a better direction....

But this is definitely a better direction. Biography docs are far superior to biopics. John Candy was one of my favorites growing up so I'll definitely throw this on.

An obscure tag formatting fact for those interested: A name that follows immediately after the trailers tag is the director. The three names before the source.youtube tag are the actors appearing.

I was such a fan of SCTV years ago that I feel like I know the cast and I’ve always been happy to see them in other things. Some of them have had huge success, and some of them medium success, but they’ve all been great in whatever I’ve seen them in.
Joe Flaherty and John Candy were my favorites. Joe sadly passed in 2024.

If you’ve only seen John Candy in movies, make sure you also watch some of his SCTV work. He often did characters who were more cynical and shady, such as Johnny La Rue, or mayor Tommy Shanks.
