This video series is a similar concept to Criterion's Closet Picks but from a French channel, and offers a wider selection of movies for people to chose from. BTW, there is no need to speak French to understand this one since the interviewer and del Toro both speak English throughout the video.

The movies he picked and discusses:
Mad Max 2 / The Road Warrior (1981)
    Taxi Driver (1976)
    Planet of the Apes (1968)
    Avatar (2009)
    The Revenant (2015)
    The Devils (1971)
    The Exorcist (1973)
    Priscilla (2023)
    Notorious (1946)
    Vertigo (1958)
    City Lights (1931)
    Freaks (1932)
The Young and the Damned (1950)
    Beauty and the Beast (1946)
    Dheepan (2015)
    Beau Hunks (1931)
Frankenstein (1931), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Son of Frankenstein (1939), Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974)

p.s. I love the story he told about him and James Cameron watching anime together! I honestly never pictured Cameron as an anime fan, and the fact that he introduced del Toro to Patlabor is hilarious to me.

I’ve watched the video club videos since 2019. They’re pretty cool, it only sucks when they have a director that doesn’t speak English since the subtitles are going to be French.
