SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BELOW.
I think that it's a decent movie with an exceptional beginning which quickly slows down and tapers off to a screetching halt after the squad escapes the house. When they entered, they were professionals, and when they leave, they're bumbling idiots. Everything about the helicopter never made sense, I don't understand why two trips with potential refuel weren't possible, as the urgency of the supposed chase was never really established. Hell, they wouldn't have even needed to do the entire flight twice, just the parts that the helicopter couldn't stomach over the mountains.
It picks up slightly again at the village but then continues slowly without any sense of purpose. The movie is essentially a bombastic start, an entire middle of basically nothing but walking and a fairly unclimactic ending where they get chased by a bunch of teenagers.
I think it would've made for a better movie if they never got into the helicopter and it turned into a long chase sequence where they try to escape the town with some money on foot or car.
SPOILERS END.
The acting is stellar, and I enjoy the tactical realism, especially at the beginning in the house (thanks to the filmmakers for showing that everyone has to reload and guns do in fact have finite magazines), but it starts to drag pretty quickly.
Although I still enjoyed my time with Triple Frontier as a whole and I'd be open to a potential sequel with a tighter script, I probably won't rewatch it.
I definitely agree with what you’re saying. After it was over I felt disappointed and I wasn’t sure why. The movie really lacked any direction and I found myself becoming increasingly frustrated...

I think the fact that they acted so smartly during the planning stage of the heist and it's execution only added to the frustration once they turned into bumbling idiots. I think whoever wrote...

I think whoever wrote this film only had the original heist concretely in his head and didn't really know what to do with it once that part of the film ended.

J.C. Chandor's last movie, A Most Violent Year, was pretty damn good so I was hopeful for this one. But yes, after they left the house it just totally fell apart for me. By the end I was begging for the credits to roll. There was some great talent in the movie and I felt like Ben Affleck was really trying.
But give me a realistic scenario! Did they not have any forms of communication? Their plan was to fly the helicopter out, no backup plan, AND they were okay with taking a huge risk (which obviously didn't work out). Where's the satellite phone?! You've spent half the movie showing me how professional and detail oriented these guys are so I was just baffled by the choices of the filmmakers.
Oh well, I always prepare to be let down by a Netflix film even if I've enjoyed the cast or crew's previous works.

Your opinions seem to fit into the majority opinion on this film. Probably a telling sign what the movie's greatest flaws are.
