Completely agree. There was an obvious change in feel when Josh left after Through the Eyes of Madness. When he came back it all fell back into place though. This may be a bit mainstream now, but...

This may be a bit mainstream now, but I've always thought that Zac Farro of Paramore is consistently fantastic, and from what I can tell, underrated.
Wow. I've always enjoyed Paramore, but never really paid full attention to to the instruments. I just found a video about Zac changing time signatures mid song and it makes their music so much...

Side note: check out the movie Studio 666 with the Foo Fighters. It is far better than it has any right to be.
That does actually check out, now that I'm looking at their wiki page. Gotta love the little graphs they have that show the tenure of band members! I wasn't too familiar with the band's members...

Claudio and Chandra have Prize Fighter Inferno, Travis has Fire Deuce and Davenport Cabinet, and Josh is Weerd Science on his off days. I cannot wait for for Zach to have his own side project. Dude is groovy as fuck!.

Coheed has been my favorite band since 2007. I love the pop-punk vibe they've had on these last two albums, even if others think they aren't progressive enough. The last three songs on their most recent album played together is my favorite thing they've done. I've hit certain milestones with Claudio, such as fatherhood, so maybe I just relate to everything as his writing has matured.
"Who says you got to rush to get old?
Figure it all out or you'll be left in the cold
Little one, let them, don't follow, just set them free
You can do it on your time
So you know I'll be watching you, armed to the teeth
Don't you go poking while the lion, he sleeps
My boy, it's okay to cry"
Every time I hear that song, I feel like the little boy with my dad by my side ready to fuck some assholes up. I cry every time because he decided to leave us almost 11 years ago, but I can still...

~ oh sweet, a thread just for me ~ I checked out with Color Before The Sun but Coheed is back in a big way for me. I can't wait for Neverender 2023 in October.

Color Before the Sun was quite unique being the first album that wasn't part of the story, but I think it was exactly what Claudio needed to reset himself after becoming a new dad to Atlas (who has his own incredible song). But everything since then just rocks harder and harder. When a new album drops, I put on my headphones and crank the volume to max and fall into bliss.

I've had the first two albums on rotation more or less since they came out. I was never able to get into anything beyond In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, despite several attempts each time a new one has come out. I do pay attention to the lyrics, but not the lore, so it's not the whole mythos thing. I've tried but just can't put my finger on it.
Claudio's lyrics, at least in my two favorite albums, are just great. Elliptical and expressive with a certain air of just not caring about making sense. Over and out, Connecticut.
Fair enough. Those first two albums are straight bangers. Time Consumer will never not be a hit for me. Good Apollo Vol 1 is really good. From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness had to be my...

Larnell Lewis is pretty tight.
