Gunship today released "Monster in Paradise" on the heels of their newest album announcement for Unicorn. Monster lands with an energetic synth beat, featuring a duet with Milkie from Wargasm and Gunship staple Alex Westaway, drums by Dave Lombardo from Slayer, and a guitar/saxophone solo between Tyler Bates of Watchmen/John Wick fame and "Sax Guy" Tim Cappello of The Lost Boys popularity.

Edit: The music video for Monster in Paradise released today, too!

These are also really neat details about the song. I hope there is more to come.

I love this too. Though I feel the frequency of the vocals don't allow for much breathing room in the track, I do enjoy them. If they would lay off the vocals during the solo I'd enjoy it more,...

I don't know why but after I entered my 30s this just became my genre. I seem to have shed all prior music tastes for the past 4 years and I just live and breathe synthwave. Any suggestions?

Oh man.. I'm really not someone to give recommendations on synthwave I don't think. I got into it about 6-8 years ago, then got out of it after a while because I felt like the scene got pretty bloated and samey. The main band I kept going back to was Gunship because they're a great sound. What I'm saying is, I might be preaching to the choir by suggesting anything because if you know it, you know it.

But I like Midnight yeah. Vampire is one of my favorite tracks. Ravens in the Sky by Dance with the Dead is a headbanger.

Carpenter Brut just played Hellfest in France, and Gunship sang a song with him. The whole set is killer and on YouTube

I don't love it on first listen but the guitar and sax is cool, for them. Looking forward to the rest, thanks for posting it.

I think the sax part was played by the guy from "I Still Believe" from the hit movie, "The Lost Boys." Out now on VHS and Betamax.

I'm a Gunship fan in general and this is great too IMO. I prefer vocal synthwave (though I like instrumental too) so this is my jam

You ever checked out Le Cassette? It's a lil more down-tempo fan a lot of synthwave but the vocals are decent. Lil corny, but in that fun 80's way.
