Iv been delving into jazz. I was never really into it but now I'm dipping into it and finding some really interesting stuff. Been listening to Miles Davis, sun ra, herbie hancock and I'm sure there's one more but I can't remember now.
The rest has just been playlist stuff and some pop music. Last few weeks have been busy so I think I just need some time away from grind and death metal.
I found a band recently that I like a lot called Cut Worms. Very cool retro sort of indie sound. They have a song called song of the highest tower I really enjoy that has been on repeat.
I've fired the Christmas playlist back up and relistened to MCR's cover of All I Want For Christmas, it's pretty good.
I really enjoy My Chems cover. They give it a raw energy I didn't realize the song needed. Haha
3rd Secret, especially the second album. I like every song on it.
Listened to some interesting music while driving to my sister's house
That first one is a jam. Going to check the rest when I finish boppin.
Recently discovered Royal Blood (think I've mentioned them before) and I've been listening to them basically nonstop. Think my favorites so far have been;
I was introduced to Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo and I'm really into it. It's got good pacing, buildup and a decent groove.
Hath - All That Was Promised
I picked this up towards the end of last year and I just absolutely love it. I stopped listening to Death Metal many years ago, because I generally found it pretty rote and dull, but I gave this one a chance for some reason (it was on a Best of 2022 list...) and it's just absolutely incredible. Extremely catchy and memorable, as well as crushing with some nice progressive elements.
