The members of HUNTR/X — the fictional K-pop group made up of nonfictional singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI — have just become the first women K-pop artists ever to hit No. 1. (If you're wondering about "APT.," last year's duet between BLACKPINK's Rosé and Bruno Mars, it peaked at No. 3.)
K-pop acts routinely top the Billboard 200 albums chart, and eight K-pop songs hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 prior to "Golden" — all of them connected to the boy band BTS. Now, a K-pop girl group has finally topped the Hot 100 in the U.S.

By the way, I'm not sure if anyone here cares, but we found out the Japanese dub also includes Japanese versions of the girls' songs, not the boys' though. It carried over our setting from watching anime
I wasn't interested in the movie, and didn't think I'd like the songs until I heard my favorite singer, Solar, from Mamamoo, do a short cover of Golden. It is a pretty good song, and very hard to...

So, I watched the movie and thought it was mediocre at best. None of the other songs really hit with me either.
Not judging or convincing (as taste is subjective and all), but my opinion of the film jumped after watching Everything GREAT about KPop Demon Hunters. I already had mostly like it, but flowing...
I already had mostly like it, but flowing through the breakdown really highlighted a lot of small moments I missed and really made me think about just how well everything was put together.
Having watched this and Frozen approximately the same number of times now, I'll take KPDH 11/10 times.
My kids liked it and I thought it was fun and cute. They wanted to show it to my wife, who kept rolling her eyes at it, until I finally made her put down her phone and actually fucking watch it....

After it was over, she finally agreed with me. I feel like there's a lot of little things to miss in that movie if you're not paying attention, it is not second screen material.
Not that it's fabulous or anything, but I've watched much worse animated movies with my kids.

I'm glad that post introduced it to people!

Like I tell my children, "At least you tried it out."

I consider it better than the majority of the Marvel universe, and about on par with Star Wars.
Had "Unknown Artist tops Hot 100" on my bingo card this year and I think this qualifies, so that's neat. Liked the movie as well.
