Dead pioneers - post American. Very political punk with a more spoken word vocal delivery. Comes from a native American point of view. Its punk, its poignant, its funny and very politically charged.

Lemme know if this should be music only, but I've been listening to the Heinrich Himmler podcast series by Last Podcast on the Left. It is by no means the most informative way to digest history but consider me "infotained" enough to hear about the germans filling mass graves, the precursors to the Holocaust, and the Einsatzgruppen.

A lot of Primus. I've known/liked a few of their songs for years now, but I've never given them a serious listen beyond things like "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver", "My Name Is Mud", etc. But earlier this week I decided to just dive into their greatest hits with the "They Can't All Be Zingers" album.

This stuff just soothes my ADHD. Some of is Les Claypool's bass playing is insanely "foot tappable" and the rapid footwork on my part helps offset the ADHD a good bit. And some of it just now how chaotic it all is. Keeps my mind occupied a bit so I can focus on working. It's good stuff.

Also, I believe I'm now obligated to say "Primus Sucks!"

i've been having moments of just not listening to a lot of music, or listening to a bunch of it, or checking out tracks newly coming out but not settling on anything. i'm all over the place mentally atm

What bugged me was how short the songs are. There is a symphonic quality to many of the tracks on this album. To me, the length of the songs (around 3 minutes ling) is out of sync with the choice of sound (symphonic themes). Just when I was "feeling" the song, boom! it's over. A 3 minute sung may be ok if its a bouncy pop song, but she went with this new concept for Lux, a sound that feels larger, more epic in some ways, yet the songs are so short. It's a disappointment. "Bite sized epic sound"? "Symphonic equivalent of reels?" I don't get it.
