Took like a few weeks for me to fight the cognitive dissonance of my then-small worldview. I had trouble looking at them in the eye for a while, felt nervous or unsure. And I later felt deep guilt for this. But I worked thru the ignorant thoughts, stayed best friends. Stoner duo, planned matching tattoos, in 3-4 rock bands together, etc. (until things got rocky after drugs took priority in our lives and we had a falling out; doing better now separately).
But I'm thinking about it, now.
Dawg, I'm 32 now and have more trans friends in my circle than cis friends. I couldnt bear this world without them.
Knowing a gay person started a fire in my heart, even though I didn't know how to react at the time. I know not everyone is me, but I want to put it out there that if that kid truly got a glimpse at your gay(noun), I'm sure it would've helped start a fire in their hearts, too.

It felt like a step in the wrong direction in terms of becoming more of an RPG than a stealth adventure, but the characters were interesting enough to me and the setting and environment were captivating in a lot of areas, from climbing pyramids, to seeing mirages in the sand, to the first streamlined use of an eagle in the sky to track and tag enemies.
But where Origins was contained enough and had a scope to it, Oddysey there's just so much land and not enough to really climb on. It's like ghost of tsushima fort takedowns but like 75% more forts.
There's some good parkour animations and the climbing can be satisfying -- but I almost feel like "DUH, they've been the premiere climber/killer for over a decade, I would be shocked to see a traversal system fall flat."
But it almost does, I have several buttons mapped differently to feel more like assassins creed (don't force my triggers into light and heavy attacks, I guess if I need light and heavy attacks in a stealth game, I'll make them X and Y)
The performances are a little dour, hearing "Greek" accents done with English lines is a little cheesy when it hits the screen. I can't help but feel like I've been handed a game that's too big to enjoy.

One listen and I'm already into it.
Atomic Collapse is a minute or two longer but plays with the album's namesake theme at the end and feels good as a whole.
BUT THE ALBUM IS SO SHORT!
Beggars can't be choosers though, I'm happy when my comfort band puts out anything at all.

Liked:
The dread, delayed gratification
Direction and practical effects
Cinematography with proficiencyThere seemed to be a lot of inspiration here, felt some homage to resident evil VII biohazard, like when the family has dinner and the patriarch is almost bursting at the seams; father often responsible for crashing through the walls, either he or throwing his living son through them. An Amityville father ramping up his annihilating ambitions, disgustingly stabbing a dog with the only sharp instrument around, a fork. There was some interesting commentary on hiding domestic abuse from the family, and a grieving one at that. One of the kettles that personally has affected my life in explosive ways.
Could be the minority, but a lot of repulsive sequences in this movie that I actually loved, lol. Drinking the hot candle wax, straddling on the knived-up dishwasher, and the absolute howling I did when the deadite took grandma's retainer/denture from her mouth, licked it clean, and put it back. I scrammed a mighty scream.Disliked:
Inconsistencies with deadite infection
Impotent urgency to reach exposited silver bullet
Overstated thematic endingGrandma's denture felt obvious, but only because it was exposited that way. Grandma's infected because she gets the denture back and is left alone for a few minutes. But it's never really agreed in universe if getting covered in blood or swallowing some or getting cut or bit does the trick. This one felt like it played fast and loose with the "infection." The mom briefly fighting back the deadite within was confusing. She seemed to return to herself slightly when she began fighting to keep her living son alive, away from the patriarch deadite. But it was telegraphed as both deadites having their own strategies and styles for getting information from the boy, one thru brute terror and one thru emotional appeal. But...when the MC brings her into a room to safety and after a story beat, "gives up" and clearly has a "transition" back to being a deadite. It all just kept me more puzzled than intrigued.
Main characters taking too long to make it to the attic where they know the magic dagger is.
The living son eventually dies and becomes a deadite -- so could they not read his memories and know which knife is the right one? Why did it keep provoking her to try then if the 4th or 5th knife ended up working?
The final baddie being the abusive ex husband in all CG was pretty poor, and as some others on the reddit thread pointed out, running up to him immediately with the knife and cutting him short rather than including the 15 minute bookend at the construction site would have made for a more satisfying ending and felt more in service to the rest of the movie.
I'm hungry for this kind of movie, so I still liked it. But it wasn't as good as Evil Dead Rise in my opinion.
Post credit scene was kinda fire though, albeit has the same inconsistencies with how deadite transference occurs.

If I had more of an incentive to slow down the town creation I might, but right now I'm repeating a few gold mine harvests at a time to earn enough to maximize land space. Definitely kneecapped some of my fun by cheating, but the gameplay isn't enough for me to want to make that many runs.
Music is hot fire.
I do kinda wish there was a bigger story to the game. Not expecting a Hades rougelite but something, y'know?

He's done Weapons, Barbarian, and I am very excited for this movie as well.
There seems to be a real intention to characters, they feel alive in their worlds. And as any horror fan knows, comedy and horror coexist very naturally and Zach knows this.
Horror is booming right now!

I was a young musician once who made things for friends to listen to, but I also recorded them in my closet and sang quiet enough for my parents to not be able to hear. This might not be the exact case, but I think what I want to add is you are worthy and capable of signing out and being proud of what you have! Don't feel like you have to be quiet and make your instrument smaller in order to express yourself!
But yes, of course, singing quietly (and doing it well) is much harder than singing out loudly (and doing it well). But long tones and breath support are the bread and butter that will supercharge either of those

I think the breath support is a key takeaway. Some people are suggesting ways to access more range, but I think frankly the breath support would open up the range you want as well. It might mean standing up straight, shoulders relaxed, chest supported; it might be a deeper breath, and longer phrases before taking another one; and it might mean singing out like you're trying to knock a paper plate off a windowsill across the room. I think the emotional soul of the lyrics and the lilt in the melodic phrasing makes this super memorable and sweet and cerebral. Quiet, breathy singing might be the style, but that kind of singing still requires a full breath! Breathe!!!!
I have a music ed degree in k-12 band, so I'm not a choir teacher. But I hope you keep making music, you sound great!!!!

I feel I'm in the same boat. A lot of my mental block comes from my self esteem and inability to immortalize something immediately on to a page or a DAW, it would never be good enough, I would never be good enough to put something together and I usually stop myself before before I begin.
Sometimes I feel like I'm close to that emotional breakthrough that'll just let me sit down and "create" something without needing to make it a product. I think it'll come to me many years later and it'll wash over me like a warm cup of tea - who cares what anyone thinks, play it out
