I wildly missed this when they removed it ~7/8 years ago and nearly every time I start Spotify all I think is "I really wish the lyrics came back", this is more than a welcome change!

Finally indeed. I like the way they implemented the feature on mobile (iOS) but they clearly didn't think the desktop implementation through. On desktop, the lyrics take up about 80% of the screen with no apparent way to scroll them and there's no way to shrink its window. It's not a deal breaker, it's obviously an improvement over the period where there was no lyrics feature, but I wish they spent some time considering the different medium that is the desktop.

Tangentially, I wish Apple Music was not a dumpster fire compared to Spotify. More and more I feel like Spotify's trying to make me listen to stuff I just don't care about. I've been using Spotify since 2017 (the glory days of their desktop app) and in all those years I've listened to a single podcast episode which was Joe Rogan's when Quentin Tarantino was a guest and now my homepage looks like this. I get that they see in-house podcasts as their money maker going forward since the record labels squeeze every drop of money they can get from them, but making their users suffer for their lack of business acumen seems a bit shortsighted to me. I tried quitting before, but Apple Music is unbearably slow and I'm not quite tied into Apple ecosystem to get all the benefits.

Your homepage looks like mine and I don't listen to podcasts at all. I paid for the family plan for years and just finally quit because of them shoving their politics in my face. Give me some sacred place away from the culture wars, at least for a bit. Music was that sanctuary but Spotify's ruining it. Apparently it thinks I'm some right-wing nutjob, some algorithm. Which, btw, is the second reason I don't give them my money. I use it for discovery and it'd just recommend the same crap over and over. I dared not to try to seek new music also because once you listened to something, whether you liked it or not, Spotify took it as you liking it. I'm back to using Youtube for music discovery and my own personal music collection.

If you accidentally click on a podcast link once, you'll see it on your home page every time a new episode releases.
