He is a terrible piece of shit, but I would be lying if I said I didn't derive any pleasure from his legal troubles.

I used to take pleasure in his legal troubles. Now even those are annoying.

That's fair. I think I enjoy reading about them because it's finally some consequences for a loudmouth. Our culture of celebrity needs more consequences.

For decades there has always been someone to fill that role. Tate aint the first and he wont be the last that is certain.

The one problem I see with this outcome is that his whole schtick is about grifting. If, at the end of this all, he ends up free and destitute I could see him getting even louder and doing whatever new wildly shitty things it takes to milk more money out of his followers. I truly don't want to know the depths of depravity he could reach if he becomes desperate. For the wellbeing of the world at large I hope he gets locked away for a very long time.

lately it's been giving me notifications about Tate's tweets. I have no idea why it thinks I'm interested in that. Interestingly enough when it started sending me his tweets is a little after Musk took over. I know correlation /= causation but it still seems kinda odd....

Both my brother and myself experienced the exact same thing. We both follow almost exclusively liberal politicians and video game studios/personalities. Musk took over and my feed which is supposed to be my followers started showing 80% people I do not follow at all and of all the new accounts they were suggesting/showing me nearly all of them were right leaning political operatives.

Absolutely no one will ever convince me that Musk didn't intentionally amplify voices on the right even when people had a documented history and followers list that indicated they were not interested.

Agreed. As someone who has had a former friend get into him, and who also has to deal with his "fans" on occasion (not by choice, they're not exactly family but akin to family), I find it so frustrating to watch people endlessly praise this guy. I don't understand it in the slightest and it sucks to think about the ideas these people likely condone because they support him.

It's hard to say whether it's hatred or ignorance that draws people to him, but if I had to guess, it's some combination of the two. I've given up on trying to change minds a long time ago, but the irritation still lingers.

His schtick is tailor-made to attract lonely teenage incel types, and it is apparently very effective.

Tate isn't my cup of tea, but I have tried to keep up with the news of him through word of mouth and the news. I heard they had to elongate his stay so they can get more evidence of the alleged crimes that took place. I wonder if they got enough evidence to pin him to any of the alleged crimes?

I think they must have if they've now formally charged him.

I don't know. The article says the judge has 60 days to review the case before trial. It could be like you said, or it could be that they are going with the trial anyways without sufficient proof that they needed to tie him with. I'm interested in the outcome, even though I don't support his community.

Don't you suspect there might be an issue with his case because of the length of the extra time they kept him in a cell? They delayed it at least 3 times from memory. I am skeptical when rich people get put in handcuffs for any reason because a lot of the time they can get out due to their money. On top of that the delays, so I would be genuinely surprised if he gets any time in prison after the trial.

Wasn’t he jailed as a result of an investigation? Why do you believe there’s no evidence?
