I find Yaccarino's claims of booming traffic pretty funny though. It's certainly a strategy...

If you're referring to that final section in LALB, it's just a lot of layering of my voice and other synths basically lol. My poor laptop struggled with that one.

Thanks for the kind words! I've actually never heard of either lol. I'll definitely check the both of them out though. Any starting points you'd recommend?

Agreed. As someone who has had a former friend get into him, and who also has to deal with his "fans" on occasion (not by choice, they're not exactly family but akin to family), I find it so frustrating to watch people endlessly praise this guy. I don't understand it in the slightest and it sucks to think about the ideas these people likely condone because they support him.

It's hard to say whether it's hatred or ignorance that draws people to him, but if I had to guess, it's some combination of the two. I've given up on trying to change minds a long time ago, but the irritation still lingers.

For what it's worth, I'm about 40-45 hours in and have largely felt that Ascend is one of my least used powers. Climbing still factors very heavily into the way I approach the game, but it's now only one particular method of getting somewhere. It feels as though the developers had a big interest in giving the player a huge variety of ways to move vertically very quickly (something you'll likely find as you progress further and experiment with various Zonai devices).

While it's definitely unfortunate that the section of the game you mentioned limits you in that manner, I feel as though your pinecone technique seems far more true to the experience I've had with the game since progressing a little further. See a great height? Here's a ton of different ways you can approach it, have fun.

On a separate note, I do think that I'm also underutilizing Ascend just a bit. I think that the less linear approach to solving things with Ascend (the same approach that makes the other powers feel satisfying to use) almost requires me to stretch my brain in a way I'm not used to when it comes to other games, but maybe that's just me.

A big one for me is /r/ADHD. As someone with a relatively new diagnosis, it was a godsend. A lot of good information on medication, supportive posts, etc. Overall, it was a nice corner of the internet that helped me feel a little less alone as I figure everything out.

The sub actually isn't blacked out from what I can tell, but I'm refusing to go on Reddit and likely will be indefinitely, so it's been difficult to walk away lol

Apple Notes is my preferred solution as well. In fact, I use it for mostly everything. For me, it's a highly intentional choice. I spent way too much time a few years ago bouncing between different tools and seeking a "perfect" productivity system. After some time (as well as an ADHD diagnosis, medication, and therapy) though, I realized that these tools and over-complicated systems were aiding in my procrastination.

I moved to Apple Notes in an effort to simplify my approach to being organized. I keep notes, checklists, and more in there and usually stick to searching for things rather than organizing via tags or folders. The urge to procrastinate via perfectionism creeps in every once in a while, but I try to push through when it does.

I suppose the other downside is that it’s not free, but I’ve still enjoyed my time with it.

Yes! I played the Mile Morales sequel not that long ago and really enjoyed it. It was a little strange at first because I was just coming off of the 2018 God of War, so the combat was a huge adjustment, but once everything clicked for me it really clicked. Fantastic game. Can't wait for the sequel this fall.

Very cool album with an interesting blend of electronic/rave music with metal riffs and punk ethos.

I'm not originally from here myself. I actually grew up downstate, but fell in love with the city after visiting so many times. Eventually moved here after college and haven't looked back. For all of the annoyances (worsening public transportation, harsh winters, etc.) I love the city to death.

Hello everyone! I’m a graphic designer living in Chicago. Aside from design, some of the things I enjoy include making/producing music, video games, reading (I seem to be in a perpetual state of falling off of reading and picking it back up again) and running. I have many more interests than that, but I don’t want to make this post too long lol.

2023 has been an interesting year for me in regards to social media. I’ve become more and more aware of how destructive it can be to my mental health at times, so I’ve been trying to find slower, more thoughtful means of online communication. Between Mastodon and now Tildes, I feel like I’ve potentially regained some level of sanity when it comes to online platforms.

Looking forward to participating in some real discussion here. Nice to meet you all!
