This looks like good news!
Further details from the New York Times archive link.
I'm delighted that The Onion will be kept alive by a group that's likely to respect the site and the people who create it. The Onion has consistently produced the sharpest, most necessary political and media criticism inside a hysterically funny wrapper.
Glad to see ONN will be returning! Love the onion's old video content, the new Tik Toks/shorts they've been making have essentially just been a presenter reading onion articles which isn't particularly interesting. Assuming clickhole is a part of this, I hope they return to a video focus as well.
While I'm also not a huge fan of the ticktock format I understand that a lot of people get their news that way so it makes sense to mock it.
It also gave us this gem.
Yeah, they've had a couple good videos (the girl who refuses to use words that start with N) but I often find myself scrolling through their videos from 11+ years ago even still.
Sony's fucking gizmo that everyone needs? Or HP cloud? Well, I never get tired of Cockpuncher!
EDIT: Oh, I forgot! The tragic loss of all the gas that is now powering the cars of angels in heaven.
I hope this means we're finally going to see Steven Seagal play the part he was born to play.
That's great, but I'm pretty sure he would rather play The Russian Dogsmusher.
Waiting for an actual "Global Tetrahedron Pictures" studio to take on this effort...
Hold up...that's not a tetrahedron
