When I first clicked on this link on HN I was expecting an article about data privacy, but instead I was pleasantly surprised. While the title is enticing I do think that it can be misleading. Perhaps a title like "Where academia works against science" would be clearer?
All my life I wanted to be a scientist and do research, when I did my first paper and understood how everything worked I just left. It broke my heart to see what research was really about.
