Illusions are great ways to remind ourselves of the fallibility of our senses. I also really enjoyed the explanation of the experiment looking at the priming effect of human children raised in "carpentered environments" vs. those raised elsewhere. I’m not sure how we can defend against people who understand illusions and priming effects and employ them to influence others for their own agenda. It’s basically brain hacking along vectors that are so evolutionarily engrained that there’s basically no defense against this sort of manipulation. You can’t not see some illusions, even if you know they’re illusory!

Damn, that brings back memories! I grew up with dubbed reruns of this show! The intro song is engraved deeply in some old part of my brain, pure nostalgia!

I saw it on an old Australian tv program called The Curiosity Show.

I find it confusing to look at, because I see it oscillating, but feel it rotating, which doesn't make any sense, but also feels really uncomfortable.
