Can we all just appreciate the sheer cognitive dissonance of engaging in election interference for fear of election interference. I just can't sometimes.

Well, it depends on how much you value integrity. If you see it as a purely adversarial battle between two sides, then it makes sense to do this kind of thing.

I work with a particular guy occasionally that has different political view than me (shocker) that I always end up (politely) talking politics with. This guy seems fairly intelligent but he always ends up making arguments for his viewpoint that have (IMO) poor logic or just stupid win conditions for hypothetical situations he poses. I generally view him as fairly intelligent and just someone who like to play silly bugger.
The last time I worked with him I basically made a joke about the kind of people who always suggest that you can just put a generator on one wheel of an electric car and then it will always be charging your battery. He admitted that he would be one of those people. I tried to explain the issues with perpetual motion and how it would take energy to spin the generator etc... I don't think he understood.
This guy was not capable of understanding the basic ideas of why free energy isn't a thing and I'm expecting him to think logically about his arguments regarding complex things like politics?
