How many British teams have two North American celebrities behind them and an American/Canadian TV show? Not saying they're somehow undeserving but Wrexham also have a mountain of media around...

Not saying they're somehow undeserving but Wrexham also have a mountain of media around them now which definitely boosts their profile.

I used to live in Liverpool and went to Wrexham for work fairly regularly. It's so wild to see all these Americans excited about this small industrial Welsh town. Seen plenty of stuff about people planning trips to the UK just to go to Wrexham.

It's completely bizarre, but also absolutely brilliant for the people of the town. I was mostly visiting the factories around there but that's been on the decline over the decades and the towns people have had a tough time of it. Glad to see them get their pride back and local businesses will surely benefit from the additional visitors.

None? As a resident of North Wales it's a little bit surreal. UK football has levels, I don't think the big sports do in America? Wrexham only just got promoted to the lowest level of the football...

As a resident of North Wales it's a little bit surreal. UK football has levels, I don't think the big sports do in America? Wrexham only just got promoted to the lowest level of the football league so is years away from playing the teams most people outside the UK will have heard of (years being the shortest time frame, it's only that short if they keep winning), the sort of attention they are receiving is unprecedented.

No way this would be happening without Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. No one in America would have even heard of them.

The US soccer system has multiple tiers of leagues, just without promotion and relegation.

There is minor league baseball in the US, but no, nothing close to how it is across the pond. Also no American pro leagues have relegation. I think college sports fill that void instead.
