Warren is a very close second, especially after her debate performance. I'll most likely vote for whichever one of those two has the most momentum coming into my state's primary.
Beyond that... I don't really have any candidates that I really like. I outright can't stand Biden and Beto. Buttigieg is light on policy and experience and is too moderate. Kamala is a cop. Most of the other candidates aren't even worth bringing up at this point.

It's kinda the same thing as referring to your group as "the gang". The usage of "squad" seems completely normal and well-intentioned to me in this context and like gpl mentioned, the Congresswomen use it themselves.

I just hope that whichever one falls behind after the early states drops out and endorses the other so as to not split the progressive/SocDem vote too much.

Comment on MLB is making a play for popularity in Europe – but in Finland they've already made baseball their own in ~sports

Beyond the requirement of a bat and ball and bases, which seem pretty obvious, both hosts agreed that the competitive relationship between the pitcher and batter is fundamental to the game, and is required for something to still be baseball. I just thought that was interesting since it seems that pitcher/batter competition has basically been eliminated in Pesäpallo. If competitive pitching is fundamental to baseball then is it even reasonable to call this baseball?

Comment on Tampa Bay Rays to explore playing in Montreal in ~sports
gtwillwin This is insane. Like if it wasn't ESPN I would've thought this was satire. Honestly the only way this makes sense to me is if it's some sort of longterm play to move the team to Montreal permanently. They split the season, attendance in TB craters to even below its already pathetic level and they use that as justification to get the hell out of Florida.

I really couldn't care less if discussion on the platform is "well-behaved" if the community is made up almost entirely of scum like white nationalists and fascists, and I see almost no scenario in which groups like that don't flock to Peterson's site in droves.

I only just got it, and I've only played 3 games of it, but I think I already consider Captain Sonar to be my favorite boardgame.
The basic premise is you split into 2 teams of 4, each controlling a submarine trying to kill the other one. Every member on the team is responsible for a different part of the boat's operation, the captain decides where to move (avoiding islands and without crossing their own path) and makes higher level decisions, the first mate charges up abilities that the captain can choose to use, the engineer essentially plays a puzzle game to keep the sub from breaking, and the radio operator listens to the other team's captain, marks down the moves and tries to figure out where the enemy is. Every player gets to contribute to the team in a meaningful and unique way, and you get to compete against your friends. It's the best parts from co-op and PvP games. Here's the kicker though, you play the game in real time, not turn by turn. It's chaotic as hell but damn if it isn't fun. Real time gameplay strongly rewards good communication and efficiency, because the only thing gating your movement speed is how fast your team can do their jobs.
It's seriously so good. If you can get 8 people together, I can't recommend it enough
