That was an alright race, but I was really hoping for some rain—other than the "rain" in Russell's helmet, ha. Surprised that Alonso didn't seem to have it together as much this weekend, but still decent results for Aston Martin.

While I enjoyed all the battles that Zhou and Tsunoda and the Haas guys were in, I definitely disagreed with the penalty on Tsunoda. I don't see how he "pushed" Zhou off. To me, it looked like Yuki had the line and Zhou bailed out on his own. Really hope AT protests that.

Shame the rain never materialised but some good midfield battles. Hopefully this is the start of a Mercedes resurgence and they can challenge for a win or 2 by the end of the year.

Even on a bad day for Alonso he could've belated Stroll if he'd wanted to.

We'll see how the mercs do moving forward. It was definitely a step forward, but I wonder how much is Ferrari messing up Leclerc's car and Alonso having a bad Saturday vs the mercs really doing well.

If the commentators were right and Alonso was losing 8 tenths a lap, and 4 tenths during the race when they had "fixed" the floor he'd have been pushing mercs out.

    My podium prediction:
    1: Verstappen
    2: Alonso
    3: Perez

I can't see anyone touching Verstappen this weekend, and I think Alonso has the beating of Perez.

The Haas has looked quick in practice, so maybe an outside chance of a double points finish for them.

I agree with all of the above. I also wonder if Alpine will be able to carry momentum from Monaco, they seemed pretty decent in practice today as well.

After quali, P3 for Perez is questionable for me. Given the car, he should be able to manage it, but he is really struggling to perform. I'm hoping McLaren can hang on for a decent finish. Podium...

I'm hoping McLaren can hang on for a decent finish. Podium is likely out of the question, but it looks like they have decent pace here.

Definitely not. Not to that level anyway. I wonder if it was just the track suiting them and Alonso having a bad weekend or are they the second best car now?

They might be the second best car on tracks that suit them if they get the setup right. Why is it so painful being a Ferrari fan lol.

That was one of the most chaotic dry qualis I've seen in recent memory.

It really was! Leclerc out in Q1, Perez not making it into Q3 again, the Mercs colliding! Should make for an interesting race tomorrow.

How did RB pull off pit stops of 2.2 and 2.0 seconds? I thought the rule changes effectively eliminated anything under the 2.4-2,5 range.

2.0s is the cutoff. Several teams now are in that 2.2-2.3s second area most times. I think the FIA setting a minimum time, in the name of safety, is dumb, but doesn't seem to have affected much. I...

I think the FIA setting a minimum time, in the name of safety, is dumb, but doesn't seem to have affected much. I know other series have minimums as well and they seem to be fine.

Yep, we've started taking bets what lap Verstappen/red bull are going to come up with an issue over the radio!
