Great to hear you enjoy it. As our biggest local news station says, the UP is “Someplace Special” :)

I'm painfully aware lol, been a resident for a little over 5 years now - I'm moving back to the Marquette area soon though. Should be my last year having to endure this craziness!

I would totally geek out if I saw Ross Brawn! The Brawn GP story is still one of my favorites I’ve come across in the sport. I’ve only been following since early 2020, but have gotten really into the technical and historical side of F1 since then. Once I’m into something, I get really nerdy about it lol. I’ll keep my eyes peeled!

I think I recall Alonso mentioning that Spain will “be his last time not on the podium” this season. Maybe I’m misremembering, but I feel like that implies AM is bringing upgrades that they expect a decent performance boost from. Would be cool to see them start nipping at RB’s heels more often, kind of like RB did to Merc before 2021. Time will tell!

First time going and really excited! Bringing along a couple friends too. We’ll be towards the top of the Lance Stroll grandstand, I think it’ll be a nice view of the braking power and cool to hear the drivers boot the throttle on the exit of the hairpin. Also looking forward to exploring Montreal, none of us have ever visited.

PC has a 3080 FE, 5800X3D, and 32 GB of RAM (I play modded cities skylines, so I use that RAM lol). Case is a white be quiet! Pure Base 500DX. I mostly play strategy and racing games, for which I have a sim rig with a 49” Samsung G9 ultrawide and Fanatec DD2 wheelbase.

What a race though! Super impressed with Ferrari AF Corse, they held up immensely well under all that pressure and looked like they've been doing this for years.

I was in the same boat as you not wanting to completely quit Reddit, likely just stopping use on mobile and only using old + RES.

But that post by Christian documenting their business practices and bold faced lies during this whole debacle has completely turned me off. I can’t in good faith support their ad revenue stream now via any kind of interaction or comment/post creation. I’m done with that site now, ‘twas fun while it lasted.

There is one issue with EVs that blocks a lot of potential purchasers atm however, and it’s that “do the majority of charging at home” point. There’s a vast amount of people that live in multi family buildings with basic outdoor parking and have no ability to install at home charging infrastructure (even a basic 120/220/240V outlet). Until that happens there’s a large chunk of the market that’s basically stuck with fossil fuels.

I hope that government funds are eventually used to incentivize property owners and HOAs to install such infrastructure to speed things up. But I just haven’t really noticed any movement on that front and I worry that this problem is just getting swept under the rug (though if there are some programs starting to do this I’d love to hear about them!)

I agree with all of the above. I also wonder if Alpine will be able to carry momentum from Monaco, they seemed pretty decent in practice today as well.
