I can't comment on their ethics or business practices because, honestly, I haven't looked into it. But Saddleback Leather Company makes a solid product. I have had a couple belts from them for a few years now and I can't imagine ever having to buy another one. Thick leather, solid stitching, quality buckles. Definitely feels like something your grandkids could inherit someday.

Another leather goods suggestion is Nordic EDC. I also have one of their belts and while it's not quite as "over-built" as the Saddleback ones, it is a very nice product and should last a very long time.

Kendall really is the worst lol. He had moments of brilliance throughout the show, but he could never break away from his demons and his obsession with taking his father's place. I thought the last season was excellent and the ending was very fitting. Episode 3 and the kitchen scene with the siblings at their mom's are just phenomenally well written and acted. Kieren Culkin especially has some amazing performances
Some of the best TV I've watched. I'm excited to rewatch the show eventually, I think it will really hold up well.

Barry was OK. It has its moments, but I never felt really invested in the characters or story. After watching the first three seasons, I figured I'd finish it, but it's kind of out of my mind now.

I mainly do landscapes. I've done some weddings and street photography, but honestly I'm too shy to deal with people too much lol. I've been making an effort lately to print more of my photos and decorate my house with them. Seems a bit egotistical, but I got tired of them just sitting on my computer or getting dumped into some FB album.

To be honest, I had to Google Translate that haha. But thank you! I'm definitely getting motivated again to take up my German studies.

Thanks for bumping this. This definitely does resonate with me and it makes me miss the days of stumbling around the web finding all the silly sites people created and just getting lost down the rabbit hole. It's encouraging to see that the small web is still evolving in some form and I'm inspired to dig a little deeper than page 1 of Google.

It's an interesting platform and looks pretty well thought out. Their processing hardware looks pretty standard (that Zync-7000 series is freaking everywhere lol). It seems like a super niche thing, though. I wonder how many people really want to play around with different imagers and processing. Some imagers can be extremely difficult to work with, so for those that do, a platform like that could definitely make things more accessible, which is cool.

Unfortunately, the imager supply chain got decimated during the pandemic, at least in my corner of the market. Getting imagers as a hobbyist or in low production quantities has been brutal lately.

For me, I started as an intern with this group and that grew into a full-time position. I started out doing mostly software, but I've transitioned more to hardware as I find it more challenging. Hard to get away from software completely, though. I still do a lot of embedded programming (mostly C) and have started with Verilog and VHDL recently.

I wish I had a stronger math background. Obviously, I did a lot with the EE degree, but only had one semester of Linear Algebra and I should have taken more. We do a lot of work with coordinate transforms and I think having a more familiarity with matrix operations would be nice.

I recently started rowing on a Concept 2 Erg. My one knee always gets sore when running, so I was looking for something low impact to compliment mountain biking. So far I've been loving it! Great for low-intensity cardio, but you can do some really intense intervals and sprints as well. Comes with a bonus of a pretty solid back and core workout.

I'm currently working through the Beginner Pete's Plan which is a really good introduction to rowing. After I finish that, I'll probably work on some variation of the Pete's Plan to maintain a good cardio base during the biking off-season.

I'm hoping McLaren can hang on for a decent finish. Podium is likely out of the question, but it looks like they have decent pace here.

It really was! Leclerc out in Q1, Perez not making it into Q3 again, the Mercs colliding! Should make for an interesting race tomorrow.

I'm currently shooting with a Sony A7III. I converted from a Canon 5DmkII a couple years ago. I'm still using my EF mount lenses with a MC-11 adapter since I wasn't sure I would stick with Sony, but I've been really impressed with their platform. On the last few trips I've taken, I rented some E-mount lenses and they perform a lot better, so I'm thinking about swapping out all my lenses finally.

I really feel this on YouTube and Reddit. On YouTube, so many videos are made the same way in order to get picked up by the algorithm. Clickbait titles, thumbnails with the same "shocked" face, videos that should be 2 minutes but are padded with nonsense just so they get monetized. And so many of the comments on Reddit are just people making the same jokes since they get upvotes. I get having inside jokes and feeling a part of the community, but to your point, it feels at times like everyone is playing the same 10 characters in a show that should have ended 3 seasons ago.

Hey all! Electrical engineer here working mostly with machine vision hardware these days, but did software in a former life. Always on the lookout for a new career path.

Too many hobbies at the moment, but the highlights are woodworking, mountain biking, photography, and sim racing. Also trying to teach myself German - slowly making progress!

Loving the site so far! Looking forward to meeting more of you!

We visited the UP last fall for the first time time. Beautiful place, can't wait to go back!
