Spent my entire week drawing a map of the California state house if it had 341 seats, mainly because it's the cube root of the CA population and I like the Cube Root rule as a way of determining the ideal legislature size, and because the current CA legislature only has 80 legislators representing 494k people each, which is very few legislators for very many people for a large state like California, Although this was decided like, 140 years ago when CA had ~-800k people and back then 80 legislators was a very reasonable number. I did 50 seats each day and mostly drew this based on the racial statistics provided by the site, especially when all the Bay Area and LA neighborhoods are homogeously 80% Democratic and there's nothing else to distinguish them.

While I can't help but feel slightly embarrassed I put so much effort into this map instead of something that wouldn't require me explain half the ground rules of US politics and some other poli-sci terms if I ever decided to share this with anyone IRL, I am honestly pretty happy with how this map turned out.

This is really impressive, nice work! At 50 seats a day, this took you, what, about a week?

I went on a five mile hike with a relatively new friend I met on Bumble back in December. We talked about dog training and how parents withholding certain foods can warp your view on said foods. Hoping we can hike again soon! Her dog is reactive (and mine can be), but I think our dogs would be able to ignore each other on a hike since there’s so much else to look at and sniff, so we’re going to try that next time.

Outside of my trip on Friday, I rode my motorcycle into San Francisco on Saturday afternoon to get a vibe of the city. It was the first time I rode into the city and it was pretty nerve-wracking. People in the city just drive too aggressively and have zero chill. I don't think I will be journeying too often out there, although I still want to do the 49-mile scenic drive one day. On Sunday, I just hung out and watched the NFL playoffs. Terribly disappointed in that 4th quarter effort by the niners. I hope the Bengals crush the Rams.
