Why do people go door to door selling steaks?
Nothing against 'em, keep on your grind. But like.
It just seems a weird product/model fit to me. What's the benefit of doing door-to-door work for meat?

Vice has an interesting little piece on this very practice
But where can you actually buy steak cases <$100 ea?
Find a friend that works at a restaurant and have him add something to their Sysco order. I’ve done that once and the prices are crazy low. Maybe not as low as the wholesale prices quoted here, but still very low.
Are they allowed to do that? (Or would I be asking him to break the rules?)
Well, as they're bought wholesale then tax is yet to be paid. I would say the chances of getting caught are pretty damn low, someone would need to nark or if the restaurant got audited. Maybe you could find some legit loophole if you found a way to qualify it as a bushiness expense. I'm not a business man but the tax stuff is pretty simple.
I'm not sure, but I think it might break rules.
I've never heard of this, whereabouts is this occurring?
While I can't speak for other users, I've personally encountered the practice in both the Bay Area and in Baton Rouge.
I wonder why any door to door salespeople still exist? Especially with online shopping sending everyone what they want to their doors. The benefit I could see is being able to preview something in your home - but who, in this day and age, would let some stranger into their house?
It is pretty hilarious that theres a door-to-door knife sales company (CutCo). It's a MLM scam, and also the perfect disguise for a serial killer.
Jesus, times must be tougher than I thought.
I would be very suspicious of buying frozen produce from a door to door seller. Some people near where I live (on the coast) are picking up poor quality or less than fresh fish, freezing them, then selling them door to door. By the time the purchaser defrosts their fish and realises it's low quality, or even inedible, the sellers are long gone.
Nobody has ever come to my door offering meats. I suspect it would very much depend on whether I was hungry at the time, they could be either very successful or a complete failure.
I kinda wish someone would come to my door selling meats. I'd love to haggle myself a great deal on some steak without leaving the comfort of my home
