What are you doing this weekend?
This topic is part of a weekly series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss their weekend.
If you have any plans, things you want to get done, things you have done, things you haven't done, or even if you just want to talk about how you're doing this weekend, this is a place for casual discussion about those things.
A list of all previous topics in this series can be found here.
So, what (or how) are you doing this weekend?
Working on
flat
– the OneNote sort of a note-taker in Web format. What I have left to do is:
It's gonna be somewhat unpolished – which, given that it's a side project with no future planned, is perfectly fine with me. I did enjoy how elegant the resizing code turned out to be.
Probably go see my parents and their dog.
BAKING MADELEINES! I received a madeleine tin for Christmas and a madeleine cook book so I figured I'd try to make some for a friend I'm going to see tomorrow. I may also pick up a Bundt cake pan. My sister in law asked me to make my nieces cake and I obliges because I love baking. But otherwise not much else beyond some packing and reading.
Edit: I have finished baking the madeleines and holy fuck, they tasty and just so much easier than I ever thought, I love them. It's very tempting to eat them all lol
Nice to hear it was a success. How hard would you say it is for the amature baker?
They're pretty easy for any level of baker. You just need the tin with the molds for it, which is how they get their seashell shape. But the batter is pretty simple if you're doing plain vanilla ones. I adjusted for altitude by adding a tsp of water. Things to keep in mind is not oveffilling the mold and making sure you have enough butter in the mold. The first time I made them it went very well and none of them stuck. But I made another batch the next morning but with less butter in the molds and they stuck pretty bad, each one. I also over filled the molds lol. So those were my mistakes the second round, despite the first time going so smoothly.
Fairly busy weekend ahead for me, but in the good way! Band practice this evening to train up our new drummer ahead of our first 2020 gig next month. Basically all day tomorrow we're filming the music video to our new single. And Sunday is my third date with someone I really like :)
Happy days.
Working:(
A job? Or a project?
Bit of both
What's your job?
Filming
I really enjoy it
That sounds cool! What's the film about?
It’s a promo for a company
As a 14 year old I feel obligated to ask how the hell are you still working halfway into January?
I was also working over Christmas
If they're the 14 year old then it's not too surprising they might have a weekend job for cash on the side or to help out family finances.
I want to go flying but the meteorological synopsis is pretty unsettled for the few days with a strong northeast flow across the country lending to gusty upper level winds and turbulent lower level winds. Tuesday and Wednesday look better with a small high pressure system sitting over the south island. Windy conditions does not paraglider fun make.
Guess I'll keep working on my business then.
