What did you do this weekend?
As part of a weekly series, these topics are a place for users to casually discuss the things they did — or didn't do — during their weekend. Did you make any plans? Take a trip? Do nothing at all? Tell us about it!
I played some dungeons and dragons over the net with some buddies. We are doing a retro dungeon crawl theme and almost killed a PC with 5 wights. It's kinda nice to go back to a politics-lite game and not have to worry about some over-arching BBEG scheme and just focus on the next room's monsters.
I've been kind of craving that kind of campaign lately! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore both my DMs and the stories they craft with us, but damn sometimes it just feels good to FIGHT
My mother left to buy some stuff in the city downtown and she told me that she wasn't gonna come back by lunch so there were some "chicken pieces" (this) for me to fry for lunch and so I did. While all the tempering was made by them so this wasn't a particularly big deal, being able to do that does make me feel a tiny bit less helpless.
You should definitely focus some time to get good at cooking. You'll be way ahead of your peers and when you eventually move out on your own, you'll eat better on less than most people you know.
There are a handful of things like this that simply make adult life easier and don't take a lot of effort to get good at. :)
The "highlighting" of my weekend was trying a raid on Destiny 2 for the first time. Omg was it a nightmare. There is no party finder in game so you have to find people using reddit for example. Then I expected to take an hour or 2 to complete the thing but it took us more around 6 hours. The boss in the end has very annoying mechanics and I almost gave up out of exhaustion. I only didn't because other people were counting on me.
So yeah, raiding is probably not for me and I won't try it again for a long time.
