What did you do this weekend?
As part of a weekly series, these topics are a place for users to casually discuss the things they did — or didn't do — during their weekend. Did you make any plans? Take a trip? Do nothing at all? Tell us about it!
Learned that you can control Roku devices remotely via unsecured (local) network requests. I used https://github.com/jcarbaugh/python-roku to connect to my Roku. The main thing I was looking for was a way to type quickly instead of using the on-screen keyboard with the (physical) remote control's arrow buttons.

made it pretty easy.Basically we got ready for my son to come home from his psychiatric hospitalization. He's only five and it kills us but he needed it. He came home on Friday and we spent the weekend just trying to get back to normal. We took them out to play mini golf on Sunday as a kind of fun coming home activity.
I'm sorry to hear about how much you have struggled, I can't imagine what you have been through. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing that. We try really hard to always be available to them to talk, and to encourage them to think through their feelings and learn how to express them.
We went to the Rennaisance Faire!!! !IT WAS AMAZING
It wasn't as amazing as usual b/c things were closed due to Covid, but it was still GREAT
What did you see that you liked?
pretty much everything! I didn't realize the buildings were permanent structures, first of all, so it was really cool to see real wooden buildings instead of like, tents or burning-man-style whatevers.
but also cool were the acrobats, fire performers, comedy people, jousting, fighting, all of it. and the food was good -- especially the chips with cheese! OH and falconry!
AND it was really cool b/c the sound felt very medieval -- like, no music piping in anywhere, what noise there was was from live instruments or talking or laughing or whatever. there was a little bit of amplification but that's kind of understandable. it was just really really cool.
Worked on my franken-engine for one of my project cars and Timasomo.
