Yesterday me and my girlfriend introduced our respective dogs to each other. I was very anxious to know how they would react. In my fantasy they'd become instant buddies and we'd take lots of pictures.

Of course things did not go as planned. It turns out they're both dominant and territorial so they barked and growled a lot. I was devastated hahahah.

Getting our dogs to get along is the first step in our plan to live together. I'm obviously super anxious for that as well!

I causally commented that, given our arrangement and expectations, there wouldn't be much of a difference between living together and getting married, so she proposed to me on the spot. I'm a dude, I'm not trained to be proposed!

Keeping tradition, I haven't answered it yet. But she's got game!

The new school I'm studying at uploaded a month's worth of class material in form of PDFs for us to answer over the course of the month so mostly answering school questions. Fortunately they're cool with 'us' just answering the questions instead of needing to write the prompt.

Not entirely sure what to do, other than the activities. I'm not sure if I should make some amount of time these next few weeks for talking about/following my interests to build some sort of social circle "soon" or just chill out.

I've been knitting and it's fun and relaxing. I'm not great, but I started with a chunky yarn and big knitting needles and I'm doing a very basic garment - a scarf.

My aim is to practice technique to eventually knit a jumper. I think that's going to take a while. Even very simple patterns are pretty complicated.

The other thing I'd like to do is create a blanket. I think knitting is maybe not the right way to do that, so I've bought a crochet hook and I'm learning how to make "granny[1] squares" which I'll then stitch together.

One thing I think is interesting is that the language is different in the UK and the US, and I'm going to have a look around for histories of knitting to see if anyone knows when the language diverged.

So far for me knitting is easier. I'm not super dexterous with my hands and I find the motions for knitting easier. For crochet I have one hook and I need to work out a way to hold the rest of the yarn. I think I'll get the swing of it, although I'm never going to be fast at crochet or knitting.

Lots of the Youtube channels are just super wholesome in a nice way, and I kind of need that niceness at the moment.

[1] This is what everyone online calls them, and they do it with affection. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but.

You totally can. My mom crocheted a bunch of blankets for my brothers and me when we were kids, and has always had one or another project going. My twin brother has knitted hats, socks, a vest, and a sweater. Most patterns you'll see are smaller pieces (Squares, shapes, strips) that are then bonded together, and you can get specialized needles for larger pieces or loops. You'll be doing more or less the same thing knitting, in general.

I got bit by the crochet bug a couple times, but never stuck with it for long.

Quit my job (or not, they just called me to day to come out of furlough, lol, idk what that is but if it's too bad I'll sick the union on them), and started applying to internships, while working on my resume and cover letters with my school's career center. I feel like I should be doing more, but I'm aiming for one application a day.

I busted out my OP-1 to try to work with my Risa Stick and Line6 Pod, all three of which are some of my favorite things ever, but got sidetracked by my batteries dying in the Pod.
