    I hadn't even realized you could use Google Groups to read Usenet. I just always assumed Google Groups was just a bad product any time I've ever had to use it and never delved deeper than I've...

      TBH I thought that Google depreciated their usenet support ages ago and I'm really surprised that they're even offering the Groups product at all anymore.

        Yeah, this is quite odd. If I’m remembering right, Google bought a web based Usenet service called Déja News something like 20 years ago and integrated it into Groups, then dropped Usenet support...

        Yeah, this is quite odd. If I’m remembering right, Google bought a web based Usenet service called Déja News something like 20 years ago and integrated it into Groups, then dropped Usenet support a couple of years later. I guess they must have reinstated it at some point.
