A nearly 30% increase is huge given Microsoft's large size. They're not even all software - production of Xboxes also factor into their footprint.

Though I have to add the caveat that M$'s AI produces a staggering number of results simultaneously and also produces art on a whim when compared to a human so. Yea, I see the flawed logic in my answer.

I’m cautiously optimistic that this AI boom will spur an uptick in clean renewable energy production, in the West at least. I can see it playing out very differently in other corners of the world....

I’m cautiously optimistic that this AI boom will spur an uptick in clean renewable energy production, in the West at least. I can see it playing out very differently in other corners of the world. Because of the high profile of this tech and the huge amounts of capital being poured into it here, I think whatever giant corps want to ride this wave will necessarily have to make public investments in green energy or face PR ruin.

I’m also excited to see what new hardware emerges from all this, and (hopefully) how cheap it’ll be once supply catches up to demand.
