My current phone is a OnePlus One. I was super excited when it was released because it came with CyanogenOS out of the box.
I have since picked up an Essential PH-1 but I have yet to decide what I want to do with it. LineageOS doesn't seem to have their act together for phones with A/B partitioning.
This is unfortunate, because I really like Privacy Guard, as well as the randomization of the placement of the number keys on the lock screen for PIN entry.

That's where quick toggles came from. That's where volume sliders came from. Now nothing adventurous happens.
And let's be honest, AOSP is a poor example of open-source. Developing the N+1 version in-house and then making a code drop into AOSP upon release is hardly a model of collaboration.

Know nothing about Android development. What do you mean? Are you saying that instead of working in the open as Mozilla does, Google just does its work and dumps the code on everyone else after...

That's my beef with the Essential too. I think the guy who hosts those builds is a legit LineageOS dev, but I'd rather not chance it. I've considered checking out the code and building the ROM...

I've considered checking out the code and building the ROM myself, but I'm too lazy.
Not Android, but I'm very hopeful of PostmarketOS, especially in combination with Plasma Mobile. From not-(completely)-FOSS options I quite like(d) SailfishOS on my Jolla 1. I haven't deciced yet,...

I'm currently using Lineage (also on an OPO). What does this mean?
Many newer devices have a special configuration that reduces the chances of problems after a botched OTA update.
Yeah they dont really have their shit together with AB but is it really hindering it? I had no issues getting lineage on my essential.
You can get it, but not officially from LineageOS.
Lineage started supporting A/B partitions recently
That's good news! Hopefully an official Essential build will be forthcoming.

Pretty much, yeah.
Currently running LineageOS on my V20, but I plan on trying SuperV20 when the 4.0 version is released. Also considering buying a Pixel XL...
I'm just waiting on a lineage OS release for my phone. There are some unofficial releases, but I don't trust them
