I would still be hesitant to buy a Tesla. A popular youtube tech reviewer has one of their high-end cars (P90D?) and was recently side-swiped by a truck, destroying the entire driver's side of the car. He's interviewed Elon multiple times, and been given tours of the factory, etc. and now he's being told parts might take quite a few months to be available, and being told by other owners that they waited as long as a year for major repairs like that. If I smash up my Honda, it'll be fixed in a week at most. That would definitely give me pause. He is wealthy enough to have multiple cars, but I believe he said it was his only car at the moment.
Yeah, Tesla's repair supply chain is the biggest point of concern for current and potential owners. It's why I'm considering the Porsche Taycan as my first electric car. (also, because it's gorgeous).
