How to get a "Reddit Experience" for Twitter?
Hey folks,
I hate Twitter with a passion and find it very hard to follow discussions because they are so terribly displayed in the official App/Website. Unfortunately I have to use it for job reasons and therefore I am looking for less headaches.
Is there an app which can show me Twitter content and discussion tree views like Reddit does?
I am totally willing to pay.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Have you tried tweetdeck? It's not exactly what you are describing but it helps a lot when using twitter professionally.
Hey, thanks for the recommendation. I just gave it a try but I must say that it didn't help me a lot to navigate better through the conversation branches /:
Yeah it's less for conversation and more for keeping track of lots of different threads, mentions, dms etc and it has teams.
You may want to use nitter.net and work up something with RSS feeds. Doesn't really help your threading issue much, but it's an option.
fraidyc.at
is a similar one in a different style. I've started using this recently as it's nice to have youtube/instagram/twitter/etc all in one place (and that I can export at a later date). It's a bit awkward if you're wanting to directly interact with images and whatnot, and I think it'll suffer in regards to conversations quite badly. Just wanted to throw its hat in the ring since I've started to love this kind of personal curation. What a cool project, thanks for suggesting it!
May I ask you what is your motivation to start using Twitter?
Yeah of course!
A lot of content creators nowadays don't seem to offer a newsletter which I could use to stay up to date. So I bit the bullet and tried to actually use Twitter a little.
I noticed that it is also used by people who want to express their opinions which of course also lead to discussions, which I find very difficult to follow (compared to Tildes or Reddit).
So I had hopes that there is an app out there which might solve this problem!
Many of this same news content is available elsewhere with a very short delay. I use Feedly myself. After a little setup it’s a great way to get the news from blogs and websites.
I find Twitter chaotic, belligerent, and confusing. That’s at its very core, this is not just a matter of presentation. You’re looking into making Twitter into something it cannot be. Just my two cent.
No problem, thanks for your input. I think you're right in many regards, but I guess it definitely depends on the bubble/topic/branch you're in.
