Riff.cc, a torrent website for Creative Commons and free culture
Riff.cc is a private tracker torrent site that is completely focused on works distributed with creative commons, public domain, gpl or other free culture licenses.
It has some plans to allow tipping creators and seeders using digital currency.
You can use this invite to signup (I believe there is a limit of 90 people who can use it).

Honest question... why go the private tracker route if this is for CC/public domain/GPL/free works? Or is it only going to be private for the alpha stage, but open up to the public later?
I tried looking for a FAQ or any other documentation on the site, but there doesn't appear to be any. I did find their Trello page, though it also doesn't have much info other than hinting at there being a subreddit-like system on the site?
edit: Found my answer on /r/freeculture in Riff.CC, a free Creative Commons content distribution site
I asked this question on matrix a while ago
I think the goal is just to encourage seeding and the kind of a culture of consistent quality, tagging and such that is sometimes achieved by private sites.
Neat thing is anyone can toss a peertube in front of the content downloaded, and also throw that content on IPFS. No need for them to do that too.
Making it invite-only has the same advantage as tildes: makes moderation easier. They should probably keep the uploading torrent invite-only for the same reason.
Just a thing: I have as accessibility settings to say NO to any kind of animation since they literally make me puke.
The incredibly heavy login display animation (ie sliding in) is really too much.
The animation paired with the low contrast input fields was certainly a choice.
Indeed. Anything to expect on that, @heady ?
To clarify; this is not my website but I do know who operates it.
I believe the design is unmodified from the default of Unit3d.
I will pass on your feedback though.
I misunderstood your message as a personal presentation topic.
Thanks for forwarding it, though!
